C3 City Light launched on January 27, 2019 in Raleigh, NC. We've rallied around the vision to see people take steps closer to God, encounter His love, be transformed by His power, discover their purpose and change the world together.
The Message version says it best in Matthew 5:14: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill -- so shine!
We are convinced that the local church is God’s plan for connecting with people; that it’s not just something referenced in the New Testament, but has the power to change the way we think about church.
It’s your hub, your home base. It’s not just 4 walls and a building. It’s a family that meets together — most often on a Sunday — and lives life together. It’s where you come to connect with God, find community, and invite others to join the journey. No one is meant to live in isolation, we were made for relationship.
We were created for more. Jesus modeled this when He gathered 12 men desperate for change, passionate to learn from their leader, and courageous enough to take this message to the world until everyone has heard. That’s why we’re here.
We live in community and for community. The more we hear about the pain of isolation people experience and desperate for someone, anyone just to talk to, the more our heart beats to find you, to love you right where you are, to introduce you to the only one who can change your world, and connect you to others to walk beside.
In this season of transition, if you need help to find a church to call home please let us know. There are many great churches in Raleigh and we want to be a part of help you get connected. We believe in the power + necessity of community. The church was not defined by a building. Let’s continue to live on mission wherever we go, for the good of others and the glory of God.
The Bible is the living word of God. It is infallible, authoritative and everlasting and is the foundation of all Christian doctrine.
We believe in The Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three are eternal and coexist.
We believe that God is our Father. He is the creator and sustainer of all things, He is merciful and just.
We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious, victorious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession and in His imminent return.
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts available in the Church. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers subsequent to the new birth.
We believe in all believers taking part in communion + water baptism following the model of Jesus + the disciples. Baptism by immersion — in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — is an outward declaration of a personal decision + symbolizes the beginning of our new life following Jesus. Through the broken bread + sharing wine in communion we remember Jesus’ broken body + new covenant between God and his people. We are reminded that there is new + abundant life after death.
We believe that human beings are eternal creatures who will live forever in either heaven or hell. Acceptance of forgiveness and salvation through Christ’s finished work on cross allows us to spend eternity with Him in heaven.
We believe that man is made in the image of God. Man was created to be in relationship with God, but our sin has separated each of us from the Father and His purpose for our lives. As a result, man cannot obtain a right relationship with God through his own effort. But our hope for reconciliation is promised to us and available because Jesus chose to sacrifice His life in our place.
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God that we don’t deserve — it’s not earned by good works or any human effort. Since all of us were born in a spiritually lost condition, there is an essential need of salvation by faith in Jesus, restoring our relationship with God. Anyone who calls on Jesus will receive this free gift.
We believe the Church is the hope of the world. The church is the community of believers — both local + global. It will take each member owning an active role in our church to fulfill our purpose and mission of reaching all people to introduce them to Jesus + make disciples.
